Best family beaches
Crandon Park Beach on Key Biscayne is the best family beach — calmer water, less crowded than South Beach, and a great park with picnic areas. South Beach is iconic but water can be rougher.

Everglades day trip
The Everglades is 30–45 minutes from Miami and an incredible day trip for families. Airboat tours are the highlight — kids are usually amazed by the alligators and birds.

Best time to visit
November–April is peak season for good reason — dry, warm (75–80°F), and perfect beach weather. Summer is hot and humid with daily afternoon thunderstorms.

Getting around
A car is helpful but South Beach itself is very walkable. The free trolley covers much of South Beach. For Key Biscayne and the Everglades you'll need a car.

Where to stay
South Beach puts you walking distance from the beach and restaurants. Book well in advance — Miami Beach hotels fill up fast, especially in winter and spring break.

Where to eat
Wynwood is great for families who like art and food halls. Bayside Marketplace is touristy but convenient and kids enjoy the waterfront setting. Little Havana for Cuban food.
